The EMERSON MVME7100 stands as a top – tier VMEbus single – board computer, purpose – built to serve a diverse range of sectors. It’s especially well – suited for industrial automation, where it can precisely control complex manufacturing processes; medical equipment, ensuring accurate data processing in diagnostic and treatment devices; and defense/aerospace applications, meeting the stringent requirements of mission – critical systems.

 

Powered by a 1.3GHz NXP MPC864XD system – on – chip with dual PowerPC e600 processor cores, the MVME7100 offers remarkable computational capabilities. Dual integrated memory controllers and a DMA engine optimize data transfer operations, enabling seamless multitasking. With support for popular operating systems like VxWorks, LynxOS, and Linux, users can customize the software environment according to their specific needs.
The module incorporates the 2eSST VMEbus protocol, facilitating high – speed data transfer rates of up to 320 MB/s. It can house up to 2 GB of DDR2 ECC memory, safeguarding data integrity even in harsh operating conditions. For storage, it comes with 128 MB of NOR flash and offers options of 2, 4, or 8 GB of NAND flash.

 

Equipped with four gigabit Ethernet ports, it enables rapid and reliable network connectivity. A USB 2.0 controller simplifies the integration of cost – effective peripherals. Dual 33/66/100 MHz PMC – X sites allow for expansion using industry – standard modules, while an 8x PCI Express extension connector with SmartEC XMC span supports PMC – X and XMC extensions. Some variants support an extended temperature range, making them suitable for deployment in extreme environments.
