The IC697CPX935 is a high – performance central processing unit (CPU) module designed for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in industrial automation applications7. It belongs to the GE Intelligent Platforms’ 90 – 70 series2. Equipped with a 96 – MHz, 80486 DX4 microprocessor, it offers a boolean processing speed of 0.4 microseconds, enabling efficient execution of complex control tasks2. It has three built – in serial ports, including one RS232 and two RS485 interfaces, which support SNP slave and break – free SNP slave modes, facilitating reliable communication with other devices2. With user memory consisting of 512 KB fast battery – backed RAM and 256 KB flash memory, it can store programs and data securely2. The module supports up to 12 K inputs and outputs of any combination and 8 K analog I/O, meeting the diverse I/O requirements of industrial processes2.
