  • Product Description:
    • The Motorola MVME5100 is a VMEbus single-board computer (SBC).  
    • It’s designed for use in industrial control, communication, and other embedded system applications.
    • It is based on the PowerPC architecture.  
    • The MVME5100 was part of Motorola’s (and later, through acquisitions, companies like Force computers, and then further companies) line of VME boards, which were widely used in demanding applications.
  • Key Parameters and Specifications:
    • CPU: PowerPC MPC750, MPC755, or MPC7410 processors.  
    • Memory: ECC SDRAM, with expansion capabilities. Examples show that 512MB of ECC SDRAM, expandable to 1GB was an option.  
    • Flash Memory: User Flash memory is on the board. Examples show 16MB of user flash memory.
    • VMEbus Interface: Standard VMEbus interface for integration into VME systems.
    • PCI Interface: PCI interface 2.2 compliant.
    • Serial Ports: RS-232 serial interfaces.
    • It has been shown to have EIA-574 DTE configuration.
    • Baud rates of 38.4 Kbps (RS-232), 115.2 Kbps (raw) VMEbus Interface.
