The GE AC-5595-208 is a reflective memory switch or management hub designed to operate with the GE Intelligent Platforms 5565 series of reflective memory real-time networking products. Its main features include automatically bypassing ports when signal loss or loss of effective synchronization mode is detected, allowing other nodes in the network to remain operational. It offers up to eight ports using small pluggable (SFP) transceivers and can cascade multiple AC-5595 components to support a managed hub array of up to 256 nodes. Each port regenerates the serial optical signal, eliminating problems with insertion loss and cable attenuation,

and reducing jitter. In addition, it offers an RS232 port for local access and control, and an Ethernet port for remote access and control1.

The ACC-5595-208 is also used as a router in a fiber optic reflective memory network, which consists of a network card, a router, and an optical fiber.
