MTL MTL4850

The MTL4850 HART Multiplexer provides a communication interface between HART-enabled field devices and a plant asset monitoring or control system. It allows a host system (typically a PC running instrument management software) to communicate with up to 32 HART devices connected to the module. The MTL4850 multiplexes the HART data from these field channels into a single RS485 signal, simplifying wiring and reducing the cost per channel. It combines the functions of a HART modem, power supply conditioner, and signal switching/addressing circuitry. The module is SIL3 certified for connection to safety loops and supports HART Revision 5-7 devices.
