The WOODHEAD 5136-PFB-VME module is a Profibus interface card that supports all standard Profibus baud rates ranging from 9.6 Kbaud to 12 Mbaud. The module can operate the Profibus DP master, DP slave, FDL (Layer 2) and FMS client 1 at the same time. In addition, it uses an onboard Intel i960 processor with 512 KB of local RAM for handling communication protocols and data formatting into shared RAM 1. This module also has an additional 256 KB of RAM for sharing data between the interface card and the host, and supports paging and linear addressing modes 1.
